Tradition and patience transform the day’s catch into
delicately smoked treasures
of the Norfolk coast.
Fabulous place. Cooked and dressed crabs brilliant along with great fishcakes. Huge selection of smoked fish.

The Shop

With its low beams and small in size, we’ve created a large window so it’s now possible to see where all the production happens, looking through to what was actually gardens at one time, you can see what is a very clean and well organised production area.

My Thoughts

Buying the business back in 2002 from a supplier to owner, which grew from a passion from what the original proprietor had created, unaware of how difficult it can be, but not phased in anyway, a lot younger & still ambitious, I suppose the moral of the story is if it isn’t broken, don’t try to fix it. Its charming, amazing & we still love what we do.

Cley

Its unbelievable to think that Cley was once the largest ports on the east coast, the thought of ships turning between Newgate and Wiveton Church still amazes me to this day. Cley is definitely worth exploring, The Beach famous for its wildlife birds a short walk along the sea defence, shadowed by the Mill, a quaint little harbour, & several places to eat within a short distance, deli, bookshop and more, Parking is plentiful at the village hall.
