We are a small business with high integrity. We believe have a responsiblity to anybody who deals with us deserves to value your privacy and treat any data we hold about you with respect and care.
This document describes what data we hold about you, how we use that data, why we need it and what you can do to access, modify or delete that data. This policy is specifically designed around individuals and retail customers although the general principles are applicable to our trade suppliers and customers.
This document applies to all information held by Cley Smokehouse and includes information held on our website, within our office and accounts, on our social media and in our email marketing facility
We are UK Private Limited Company, GW Seafood Ltd (Registration No: 05108980) trading as Cley Smokehouse, a small artesan food producer (Smokehouse), food retailer and fishing company based up on the North Norfolk Coast.

The most usual way we have collected data about you is because you have ordered from us for delivery. However we may also have collected data from you if you have signed up to our newsletter, have entered a competition or provided us with details in person at the shop or (very occasionally) at an outside event.
If you have bought from our website you will have provided us with your email address. There is the option to allow us to contact you via our newsletter which you can opt in or out of. We will not contact you or use your email address for any other purpose than dealing with your order if you have opted out of our email and offers
We will also hold your details if you have applied for a trade account with us. Normally this will only apply to other businesses, but may occasionally include individuals running B&B etc.
If you have ordered from us this will be your name, address, telephone and email address and order details. If the delivery is to another person at another address we will also have the name and address of the recipient. This will include your details for orders that have been placed but not paid, for example where there has been an issue with the card payment.
If you order from us on line all your details are protected at the point of entry through TLS, Transport layer Security (Previously SSL), identified by the small padlock visible in the browser address and the https connection
If you have signed up to our newsletter we will only hold a contact or business name and an associated email address. This information is held on a 3rd party mail service Mailchimp. Mailchimp provides a full secure, GDPR compliant system for email marketing that easily allows you to opt out and/or have your information removed.
If you purchased or have purchased via credit or debit card from the website we do not have access to any of your card details (except the last 4 digits of the card number). All our online transactions are processed by SagePay and WorldPay - two large companies who process the transaction on our behalf. If you have purchased by phone your card details will be entered at the time of purchase (normally on our own website) and are not stored or kept.
Details of your order will be kept on our web server - a dedicated server in a secure facility, maintained by CWCS a reputable hosting company. CWCS are ISO 27001 Accredited and independently audited to ensure data stored is secure. The server is protected by a Cisco ASA Firewall and subscribes to Clodfare DDoS network protection.
Any website card transaction details are outsourced to SagePay. SagePay handle payment services for thousands of businesses are all their security systems are fully PCI DSS cerified
As stated (above) our email newsletter information is held on Mailchimp.
We may also store information about your order within our accounts system in our administration office for the purpose of raising an invoice and maintaining statutory accounts. Any information stored within our accounting system is protected and not accessible from outside our own administration functions.
We only use your information for the purposes of fulfilling orders, you’ve made, maintaining statutory accounts and/or to let you know about our products and services (if you’re on the mailing list).
We use third party companies in order to deliver your order, process payments, to send our newsletters and to prepare our statutory accounts.
Otherwise, however, we will not give your details to anyone else - ever!
