Succulent whole Herring cold smoked over oak in our brick kiln ovens in the traditional way.

The Bloater is a less salty and less intensely flavoured cousin to the kipper with a slightly more “gamey” flavour.

If you like our Kippers you must try our Bloaters!
Keep refrigerated (store below 5 degrees C). To enjoy your Kippers at their best they should be consumed 1-2 days after delivery. Generally will keep for 7 days from delivery date (Important: Always refer to use by date on the packet).

Kippers are suitable for home freezing (must be frozen before use by date). Consume within 3 months of freezing. Thoroughly defrost before use.

Make slashes down both flanks of the fish and spread over with softened butter and wrap in foil.

Place in a pre-heated oven (160C) for approximately 15 minutes.
