Baron Bigod is the only traditional raw milk Brie-de-Meaux style cheese produced in the UK and it's equally good to any French cheese we've tasted and because it's made locally it's even better!
Made from unpasteurized milk of red and white Montbeliarde cows just by Fen Farm Dairy just over the border in Suffolk, the cheese is cast into molds with a pelle á brie ladle, hand salted and aged in a controlled 'cave-like' environment for 8 weeks. We've seen the flavour described as "a clean lactic brightness with mushroomy, vegetable notes", to us it just tastes delicious.
Due to the handmade nature of the cheeses, sizes and weights will vary.
