Local Pheasant plucked and prepared ready for the oven
Local Whole Pheasant plucked and prepared ready for the oven. Wild birds sourced from carefully managed local estates. Serve roasted with the traditional accompaniments of game chips, roasted parsnip and redcurrant jelly.

Generally one pheasant serves 2.

Please note these are wild birds and every effort is made to remove shot from the meat but be aware that some may remain and there may be some cosmetic blemishes incurred during the preparation.
Ready to roast. Remove packaging and roast for approximately 50 minutes at 200° C in the centre of the oven until juices run clear.

Brush with oil before roasting and baste regularly during cooking. Or (our favourite) cover the bird with thin slices of streaky bacon before roasting.
Keep refrigerated (store below 5 degrees C) Store and consume by product Use By. Suitable for home freezing at -18°C or below and consume within 1 month.

All fresh poultry has a short shelf life so if you don't plan to eat your bird with 2 days of receipt store in the freezer. (Poultry does not deteriorate if stored in a freezer for a few days). Defrost thoroughly on the day before cooking in the fridge.
